Fiona Wetherall-Counselling

Thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Fiona and I offer face to face, telephone or online counselling and walk and talk therapy. I am a counsellor qualified to work with adults and children and a registered member of the BACP(British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) adhering to their ethical framework.

My training was integrative meaning that I can draw upon different theories to tailor my approach to suit you. However, the most important aspect for me is the therapeutic relationship which enables you to explore, in a safe and contained way, those thoughts and feelings which may be troubling you and to gently discover the origin of these through looking at early life experiences. A shared understanding of any difficulties you may be experiencing may help you to identify patterns of behaviour and see the way to make changes. I work towards offering you warmth and empathy and a safe non-judgmental space within which to make sense of your thoughts and feelings.

I think that the pandemic has brought up issues for many of us and it is not always easy to talk to family and friends about these. This is where counselling can be helpful. It can be difficult making the decision to have counselling and hard to choose a counsellor. I offer a free initial session, either face to face or on the telephone during which we can discuss your requirements; I can explain the way I work, enabling you to make an informed choice as to whether I am the right therapist for you.

I aim to work at your pace and offer short or long- term counselling to suit you.
